A 36-year-old man was arrested for shooting a 27-year-old Army soldier to death.
The suspect accompanied by his late friend and another had illegally entered the Thalawa Forest in Inginiyagala.
The suspect had opened fire at deer but had later found out that he accidentally shot his friend.

The suspect will be produced to the Ampara Magistrate’s Court along with his firearm on Thursday (29 July).
Meanwhile, the Inginiyagala Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
