Director-General of Health Services, Dr Asela Gunawardena said that no permission has been granted for the burial of Covid-19 victims.
He also said that if an individual dies from Covid-19, the body will be cremated.
Further adding that they have appointed a committee of virologists to look into the matter.
The public will be notified if there is a change in the decision, Dr Asela said.
