In 2016, an individual named Bewan Perera has tried to get the lease agreement canceled. It is also stated that Dilantha Malagamuwa has lodged a complaint in this regard recently.

According to this complaint, Mr. Malagamuwa was summoned to the DIG Colombo North, on the advice of the DIG Western Province, to obtain a statement.

Police said that statements have been recorded from Dilantha Malagamuwa for about two hours. During this time all information on persons behind the threats made on Mr. Malagamuwa have been revealed to the police and the police will next obtain statements from those persons.
