President Maithripala Sirisena expressed his views at a discussion with media heads today (26) that he saw the letter issued by the intelligence units of a series of attacks on a massive group of people during a visit to Singapore on Facebook.

The President has further stated that the Defense Secretary and the IGP had not fulfilled their duties merely by exchanging the letters only between them.
Speaking further the President said that he believes that the IGP will resign today.
The President said that the new Defense Secretary will be appointed today.
The President also said that the Defense Secretary, the Inspector General of Police and certain Deputy Inspectors General of Police (IGP) have not taken into consideration the intelligence information received by foreign countries regarding terrorist threats.
