Sri Lanka Army Commander’s tenure extended for one year

President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena as Commander-In-Chief has extended the term of the Army Commander Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake for another year, Army Spokesman said.

The new extension will be effective from August 19th.

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake assumed duties as the 22nd Commander of the Sri Lanka Army on 5th July 2017.
