Four including father arrested for giving alcohol to infant
Sri Lanka Police have arrested a father and three others for cruelty to a child following an investigation into a video appeared in social media which showed the father feeding his 13-mnth old son what appeared to be alcohol from a bottle.
The video posted recently on social media websites showing a man feeding what appears to be an alcoholic beverage to the infant was brought to the attention of the IGP Pujith Jayasundera.
The incident had taken place on the 14th of this month in the Meegalewa - Ganangamuwa area.
Following an investigation conducted by the Meegalewa police, the father and three others were arrested Tuesday for the offence of Cruelty to Children (section 308A) under the Penal Code Amendment Act No. 22 of 1995.
