Several Podujana Peramuna nominations rejected for lack of female representation
The nominations submitted by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) for several local government bodies were rejected today by the election officials.
Local Government polls nominations from the SLPP for Weligama and Panadura Municipal Councils, Maharagama Urban Council, Badulla, Mahiyangana, Agalawatta Pradeshiya Sabhas have been rejected.
SLPP nomination for Maharagama Urban Council was rejected due to a lack of female representation, according to the election officials while the SLPP nomination for Weligama had been rejected by Matara District Returning Office since it had not been submitted by a member of the party or an authorized agent.
