Twenty-one buses have been selected for the Southern Expressway according to the tender procedure.
The Chairman of the National Transport Commission, M.A.P. Hemachandra, said the selected buses will be allowed to travel on the expressway for a period of five years.
However, he added that if the bus permits are not collected by January 19, the buses will not be allowed to run on the expressway. About 140 buses have already obtained permanent permits to run on the Southern Expressway.
