Yashoda Range Bandara, the 25-year-old son of State Minister Palitha Range Bandara has been arrested by the Police for driving under the influence of liquor and misuse of public property, police said.
Yashoda Range Bandara and Puttalam Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Anjana Sandaruwan were injured when their vehicle driven by Yashoda lost control and veered of the road ramming into a house at Kottapitiya in Chilaw in the wee hours of Wednesday (06).
Both Yashoda and his passenger were injured and admitted to the hospital following the accident.
The vehicle belonging to the Ministry of Irrigation has been totaled and the house also sustained damage.
