Gotabhaya Rajapaksa arrives at FCID to make a statement

Former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse arrived at the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) Monday morning (June 25) to make a statement on the order of the court.

The Court of Appeal on 14 June ordered the former defense secretary to appear before the FCID on the 25th and make a statement regarding the investigations on the construction of the D. A. Rajapaksa Memorial Museum.

The Court of Appeal has also issued an injunction preventing the FCID from taking legal action against him and taking him into custody under the Public Property Act.

The FCID has filed a case charging that Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has committed an offense under the Public Property Act in constructing the Museum and Memorial in Medamulana using public funds amounting to Rs.90 million.
