Former State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran has been arrested by the Organized Crime Prevention Division (OCPD) of police this morning (08), Police Media Spokesperson said.
The Jaffna district parliamentarian will be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate today.

Speaking an event at the Veerasingham Hall in Jaffna on 2nd July, Maheswaran has called for the reorganization of the outlawed terrorist group LTTE in order to curb the rising crime in the North.
