It’s being reported that Kalutara District MP Lakshman Wijemanne and several others have been forced to break the door into the office of Minister of Highways and Road Development, Kabir Hashim in order to meet him, on Wednesday (16).
This is due to the fact that proper arrangements were not made for the UNP MP joined by a number of provincial and local government members by the officers, ministerial securities and employees in order to meet the Minister.
UNP MP Lakshman Wijemanne, including provincial and local government members, had come to meet Minister Kabir Hashim for the necessary assistance to prevent the delay in highway projects in Kalutara
As no arrangement was made by the officers though insisted by the UNP MP, he has declared that he is a senior MP and he is with party provincial councillors and local government members as well as the motive behind meeting the Minister is in order to fulfil the necessity of the people of the Kalutara District.
As a result, Lakshman Wijemanne who has been severely inconvenienced, disgruntled and unhappy has commenced knocking Minister Hashim’s office main door about ten times. However, as no one has opened the door, the UNP MP has overstepped his tolerance limit by attacking the main door with his right foot and breaking the door into the Minister’s office. Along with the UNP MP breaking the door and entering the Minister’s office, people that have been waiting outside for hours to meet the Minister has rushed into the office following the MP.
A moment after being shocked and distracted by the incident, Minister Kabir Hashim has raised his voice along with allegations against MP Lakshman Wijemanne. The UNP MP, in return, has criticized this situation by pointing it to Minister Kabir Hashim
