In Mannar and the North region curfew was reinforced very strictly, pharmacies and supermarkets which were open during last week were closed today due to government’s strict actions.
It was noted that people who were roaming around without appropriate permission were arrested and unauthorized vehicles were ceased.
Essentials goods are being distributed in this region by authorised personnel and agents, necessary permissions are being provided by Police and District Offices.
On top of all of these, it was also noted that highly condensed areas which had high crowd movement during curfew uplift period were being disinfected with the support of Municipal Council workers. Due to the tightened security armed forces’s presence was notable in these areas.
