Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Rohini Kavirathne and former SJB MP Diana Gamage strongly opposed the 15% tax on sanitary napkins proposed by the Government in its budget for 2021.
The female Parliamentarians called it a “menses tax”.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Geetha Kumarasinghe said that the only important thing for women and school children in the country is national security.
