Sri Lanka’s one time Minister for Petroleum Chandima Weerakkody revealed how an expert committee recommended proposal was ignored by then Prime Minister and also then Finance Minister which has cost the country over a BILLION dollars in actual savings.
Speaking on NewsLine Live the politician disclosed that had the expert advise been taken on board and implemented Sri Lanka would have made an additional revenue of approximately USD 400 Million each year – over a period of just 5 years the total lost revenue was in the region of USD 2 billion.
