he Government has signed an agreement with a Swedish company to construct a cable car project in the Nuwara Eliya area.
Construction of the cable car project consisting of 2 phases is expected to be completed within 18 months.
The cable car line, which will be built from Nanu Oya to Nuwara Eliya in two phases over a distance of 4 km, is fully funded under the Swedish Foreign Aid Scheme. The project will be developed on a 30-year lease at a cost of US $ 55 million.
