Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne rejected an anticipatory bail application filed by Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, seeking to prevent his arrest over a media briefing on White Van abductions.
In a petition, Rajitha Senaratne has informed the court that the Criminal Investigations Department is preparing to arrest him under a non-bailable offence.
The Chief Magistrate also refused to issue a notice to the respondents regarding the anticipatory bail application, stating that there is no legal basis for the continuation of the petition.
