BANDULA JAYASEKERA CONTINUES HIS BATTLES

Day 2 – Sir Galahad Shall Win

I was given the second chemotherapy injection yesterday . Felt nauseous. An injection and two tablets to prevent the nausea helped. I was also given a blood transfusion in addition to the usual blood tests. I did have a slight temperature for the first time since July and the good nurses took care of me immediately. We have to be careful of infections all the time. All these will help  towards my path to recovery. As for slight loss of appetite, two rasams helped to regain it.

Appeal by Two friends to the hospital management might help me to get some facilities. In this battle every rupee counts. We have already paid  million rupees  as hospital bills since July . Thanks to one wise decision I made when I purchased my vehicle.  Ceylinco Insurance paid that  1 million as critical care. Anyways that’s the limit they could go for and now the battle continues. This is a battle one has to fight from several fronts .

Sri Lanka could do better and more for the sick and the suffering  . They can bring the prices of medicine down. Most of the time prices of medicine kills. Government could come up with a comprehensive health care plan for its people. They can stop  wastage and keep its citizens safe and help them live longer. That’s what caring about.

Cancer is a battle. I am in my battle gear . No matter what,  we shall battle. Time will tell who would win.

In this case I think I will win . After all I am Sir Galahad  ( Why I am called Galahad is another story )
