Is there an organised effort to spread false information about a fuel storage? – The Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Arjuna Ranatunga says so.
The Minister has requested the President to launch a special investigation into the matter, he said while addressing a media briefing earlier today (November 20).
President Maithripala Sirisena has accepted the request made by Min. Ranatunga.
The Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development has also filed a complaint with the CID regarding false information being spread about a fuel shortage.
An immediate investigation will be launched into the matter, said Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera.
