Thirty-two Ceylon Electricity Board trade unions are still engaged in the fast they began opposite the CEB head office.
The fast has been continuing for the past three days. Trade unions are staging the fast based on issues including the increasing of the basic salary, and allowances only for higher grade employees of the CEB.
The Secretary to the National Workers’ Association, Ajith Devapriya, stated they will launch a strike if their demands are not met.
