The Government of China has donated 10 police vehicles to Sri Lankan government as part of the security cooperation between the two countries and the vehicles were officially handed over to the Police Department last evening (08th) at the Presidential Secretariat.
Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Chang Xueyuan presented the relevant documents and keys to the President Maithripala Sirisena.
The jeeps have been provided for the use of Police stations on a request made by the President after he assumed control of the police department.
Secretary to the President Udaya R. Senevirathne and Acting IGP C. D. Wickramaratne and several others were also present on this occasion.
