Court orders FCID to take action against Gamini Senarath, Piyadasa Kudabalage and Neil Hapuhinna

The Fort Magistrate’s Court has ordered the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) to take action, in accordance with the Code Of Criminal Procedure Act, against former President’s Chief-of-Staff Gamini Senarath, Piyadasa Kudabalage and Neil Hapuhinna.

The order comes in view of  an alleged misappropriation of public funds for a hotel development project.

The Police FCID has commenced an investigation against the trio and informed court that the suspects would be arrested and produced before court.

The suspects, who appeared before court today, said a petition had been filed at the Supreme Court seeking an order to prevent their arrest.

The lawyers appearing for the suspects said, their clients will not surrender to the Magistrate Court as suspects today.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate ordered the Police FCID to take action in accordance to the Code Of Criminal Procedure Act.
