Mobile permits of fruit and vegetable vendors to be cancelled if sold at higher price

Mobile service permits of fruit and vegetable vendors who sell goods at higher prices will be revoked, the Presidential Task Force on Economic Revival & Poverty Alleviation said.

The issue of goods been sold at higher prices was taken up during a meeting of the Task Force chaired by Minister Namal Rajapaksa on Thursday (17).

It was also proposed that wholesale and retail prices of fruits and vegetables sold at economic centers and the Peliyagoda Manning Market should be communicated to the general public via news bulletins.

The task force also decided that all mobile outlets must display the prices and the types of vegetables separately.
