Parliament will convene again from Tuesday 21 to Friday June 24.
The Adjournment Debate on the first report of the Committee on Public Enterprises pertaining to the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament, which was tabled in Parliament on March 8, will be held on March 23 from 11.00 am to 5.30 pm, Secretary General of the Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake said.
This was decided at the recent meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business chaired by Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa.
The Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill and the Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Bill are to be passed without a debate from 11.00 am to 11.30 am on 21.
Then from 11.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. the Industrial Disputes (Special Provisions) Bill will be taken up for debate to be passed.
Time is allotted from 4.30 pm to 4.50 pm for questions at the adjournment time. The motion at the adjournment time moved by the government will then be taken up from 4.50 pm to 5.30 pm.
