The Narahenpita Police have commenced investigations on a drone which had been illegally flying over the Jawatta area in Colombo yesterday (04).
A team of officers from Narahenpita Police have been deployed to investigate a reporting of a drone flying over the Jawatte area last night.
The police had opened fire at the drone when it proceeded to fly away straight towards the ocean. The Police had alerted the Air Force with this regard as well.
However, the drone has not been found as of yet. The police and the Air Force are carrying out investigations to track down the drone, stated Narahenpita Police.
Following the Easter Day attacks, the Civil Aviation Authority had taken measures to prohibit the flying of drones until further notice.
