The token strike comes to an end as it was called off this afternoon. The Locomotive Engine Operators’ Union and Railway Guards’s Union resorted to the strike last midnight (17) over the government’s decision to recover the losses from the railway employees for the operational errors that occurred during the operation of trains.
Secretary of the Locomotive Engineering Operators’ Union (LEOU), Indika Dodangida reported that the decision was reached following a discussion with the the Minister of Transport, Gamini Lokuge.
