In response to a question raised by Opposition Leader, Minister of Education Professor G. L. Peiris told Parliament said that schools in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara Districts cannot be reopened now.
Schools in Kuliyapitiya and Kurunegala also cannot be opened immediately, he added.
While the attendance in schools yesterday was only 51 per cent, the Minister said decisions were made after broad discussions with the relevant stakeholders.
