The U.S Senate confirmed the appointment of Zahid N. Quraishi, a federal magistrate judge and the son of Pakistani immigrants for a federal judgeship in New Jersey on Thursday (10).
Judge Quraishi is the first Muslim Federal District Court judge in the history of the U.S.
Speaking Candidly after his appointment by U.S President Joe Biden, Judge Quraishi said, “Candidly, I would prefer to be the hundredth, if not the thousandth.”
