SLAF swimmer swims across Palk Strain in record time

Sri Lanka Air Force swimmer leading Aircraftman Roshan Abeysundara sets a new Asian record by swimming 59 kilometres and 300 meters across the Palk Strait in 28 hours, 19 min 43 seconds.

He swam from Mannar to Danuskodi, Rameshwaran in India and back.

The previous record was held by  V.S. Kumar Anandan, a 50-year-old record which was set in 1971 by swimming the Palk Strait in 51 hours.
