Special operation to inspect street vendors, tuition classes and restaurants in WP

A special police operation has been conducted to inspect street vendors, tuition classes, restaurants, and various other institutions in the Western Province.

The special quarantine operation conducted yesterday (06) was to ascertain if the public were adhering to the health guidelines issued on the prevention of Covid-19.

10 people were arrested for violating quarantine regulations, 14 were placed in quarantine by health officials, while 1987 people were warned by the Police.

187 street vendors were inspected during yesterday’s (06) operation.

Nearly 152 institutions, including movie theatres, gyms, restaurants, and tuition classes were also inspected.

The quarantine operations will continue to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Police said.
