A tense situation has been reported in front of the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said today.
Earlier it was reported that the tense situation had arisen as protestors affiliated with the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) had attempted to enter the Presidential Secretariat premises.
However, the PMD said the protestors affiliated to the JVP did not enter the Presidential Secretariat premises but had only created a tense situation in front of its entrance.

The JVP- affiliated Socialist Youth Union staged a protest march today heading towards the Presidential Secretariat.
The protest march and youth rally are being held to object to the Government’s decisions.
The Galle Face entry road has been closed from the Lotus roundabout, while traffic congestion has been reported in and around the area due to the protest.
