A tense situation was reported today at the Health Ministry premises as a group of protesting dengue prevention assistants forcibly entered the Ministry.
The protesters had staged a protest in front of the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo and marched towards the Health Ministry.
The anti-riot squad of the police was called to the scene to control the situation.
The demonstration was over several demands including salary increments and permanent employment.
The vehicular movement on the road in front of the Health Ministry near Town Hall was blocked due to the protest march.
