After weeks of skyrocketing, infection and death counts have started to go down thanks to the vaccines. This could be reversed due to the variants, which proved that virus is capable of mutating evolving itself in the process.
“We’re not going to vaccinate our way to getting COVID off the face of the earth,” warned Dr. Zain Chagla, an infectious disease specialist and professor at McMaster University in Hamilton.
Alyson Kelvin, a vaccinologist with VIDO-InterVac in Saskatoon said, “the virus has been circulating in people for too long for us to eradicate it with a vaccine”.

The CV-19 virus has made it’s way into several countries and infecting their people, so it’s hard to imagine tracking and eradicating every trace of the virus.
The pandemic will end, but given time to spread and evolve the virus is likely be with us, to some degree, for years to come and the possibility of the SARS-CoV-2 becoming something like its milder family members; the common cold coronavirus.
