A 35-year-old woman has been arrested for the murder of her newborn child in Kantale on Monday (12 July) by the Kanthale Police.
Police investigations revealed that the 35-year-old suspect was residing alone with her three children while her husband was employed in the Middle East and had been overseas for the last four years.
The suspect is reported to have conceived after being involved in an illicit affair and delivered the baby at her residence on Monday (12) and later killed the baby and had set fire to its body.
The Magisterial Inquiry and postmortem examination will be conducted on Tuesday (13 July).
