Banks have been instructed to release US Dollars for students who are traveling overseas for their higher education, Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal announced today.
Parents of students travelling overseas for their education had raised concerns over making payments to the overseas universities.
The concerns were raised during a forum organized by the President’s Media Center today (7).
Responding to the concerns, the Central Bank Governor said banks have been instructed to release US Dollars for this purpose, in order to avoid any inconvenience in this regard.
Ajith Nivard Cabraal further said issues relating to these matter must be referred to the Central bank, where it would be resolved.
