Bill to support LGBT Q plus people presented to Parliament

A private member’s Bill to amend the penal code in favour of LGBT Q plus people was presented to Parliament by MP Premanath Dolawatta today.

“The Bill seeks to amend the penal code in support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and others,” MP Dolawatta said.

The intent of the legislature in enactment must be considered as amending the provisions of penal code which makes sexual orientation a punishable offence.
