Politburo member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Geethanath Cassilingham has signed nominations to contest the upcoming General Election.
Cassilingham will represent the SLPP in the Jaffna District at the election, scheduled for 14 November.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was also present during the signing of the nominations.

Geethanath Cassilingham previously served as the private secretary to Mahinda Rajapaksa during the latter’s tenure as the Prime Minister.
He is set to lead the Jaffna district from the SLPP. (Newswire)
