A special committee has been appointed to look into the salary anomalies of the workers of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy said.
The committee comprising five members will be chaired by former Secretary of the Ministry of Power and renewable energy, Mr. S. Wirithamulla
The electricity employees’ unions Wednesday staged a protest demanding the government to immediately abolish the unlimited salary increases given to the CEB management and the engineers in 2015.

The strike action commenced on the basis of salary anomalies was temporarily suspended after discussions with the Secretary to the Power and Renewable Energy Ministry Thursday.
