Five suspects from the gang that robbed Rs 20 million of ATM money at Bulathsinhala has been arrested, stated the Police.
Police have seized over Rs 1.6 million in cash, a jeep and gold suspected to be made of robbed money worth Rs 348,400 along with the suspects.
On 28th July, a sum of Rs 20 million was stolen in Bulathsinhala by a gang of robbers when a team from private company who were on their way to replenish cash at an ATM.
The suspects reportedly had thrown chilli powder at the team when they were having dinner at a restaurant in the area.
The police said that it was revealed that the security guard who arrived with the team had dispossessed of his weapon, in a way that the robbers could easily rob them.
The guard was arrested on the same day on suspicion of abetting the robbery.
The police are carrying out investigations as to whether the security company connected to the robbery.
