An exhibition titled Tradmed International Sri Lanka 2017 commenced today, Thursday, November 23, under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena.
The exhibition is being conducted by The Educational Exhibition and Trade Fair on Traditional and Complementary Medicine.
Furthermore, a conference jointly organised by the Ministry of Health, World Health Organisation and the University of Sri Jayawadenapura is to be held until November 25.
Experts from United states, Australia, Singapore, Japan, China, India, Thailand, Netherlands and Iran will be taking part at this conference.
Speaking on the occasion, President Maithripala said: We must learn today and tomorrow to protect and value what we already have. Other nations in the world have many programmes to protect the values of their cultures. But if you take a look at us, our own archaeologists have not been able to protect our archaeological resources. We should draw our attention in society to clear the disparity of grades among doctors to give the social respect our indigenous doctors deserve,” said President Maithripala Sirisena.
