Japan’s Foreign Minister arrives

Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono arrived in Sri Lanka on Thursday evening, commencing his first official visit.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that he will pay courtesy calls on the president and the prime minister, as well as have a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister Tilak Marapana.

This is the first visit by a Japanese Foreign Minister to the country in 15 years.
