Former President Maithripala Sirisena’s office has responded to allegations levelled against him by Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the Voice Against Corruption Convenor Wasantha Samarasinghe.
MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake alongside the Voice Against Corruption organization unveiled major corruptions linked to the Rajapaksa family, politicians and other state officials during a special press conference today.
MP Dissanayake and the Voice Against Corruption Convenor Wasantha Samarasinghe had revealed that former President Maithripala Sirisena and his family was also benefited from the Central Bank Bond Scam.
They further said that the former President and his family also had obtained money from Central Bank bond scammers.
Refuting the allegations, the former President’s Secretary Sameera de Silva has issued a statement claiming that the allegations were baseless and false.
He further said the former President had worked hard to reveal the truth behind the bond scam by establishing various commissions and taking the matter to the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
