Nearly 60,000 postal voting applications accepted: Elections Commission

According to the Elections Commission nearly 60,000 persons have been accepted, from applications received for the use of postal vote, at this year’s local government polls.

Additional Commissioner Saman Ratnayaka said that the names of the postal voters’ list will be validated on the 08th. He further stated that steps will be taken to hand over the postal packets to certifying officers for postal voting.

The postal voting of the Local Government Election is scheduled to be held on January 25 and 26.
