Parliament to make it mandatory for ministers to respond over ministries under COPE investigations

The parliament has decided to make it mandatory for ministers to make submissions to the chamber, when their relevant ministries are involved in a COPE investigation.

Parliamentary General Secretary, Dhammika Dassanayake, said that through this amendment, ministers will be required to list out the action that should be taken against such institutions that are charged with malpractices, within a period of eight weeks.
