The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau recently conducted a self-employment assistance program at Galle and Matara districts to assist the migrant workers returned to the country.
Galle District Program was held at the Galle District Training Center of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE). At the event, 10 beneficiaries in the Galle District received self-employment grants worth Rs. 187,292.00.
At the program in Matara district held at the Matara Divisional Secretariat, 33 beneficiaries were provided self-employment grants worth Rs. 711,599.87.
The program conducted by the Foreign Employment Bureau program provides self-employment assistance up to a maximum of Rs. 25000 for start-up businesses by returning migrant workers. The Bureau expects such programs to strengthen the returning migrant workers economically and reintegrate them in to the society.
