10 inmates at the Welikada Prison are continuing their protest atop a prison building, confirmed the Department of prisons.
The inmates are staging this protest demanding that their sentences be commuted.
However, the Department of Prisons said it cannot provide a reasonable response to these demands as the requests have already been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Department and the Justice Minister.
