MP Susil Premajayantha has been chosen to lead the Group of 16 SLFP MPs who quit the government and sat in opposition in parliament this week.
MP Dilan Perera has told the media that the President has approved their choice of Premajayantha to lead their Group of 16 in parliament.
Accordingly, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya is to be informed by the Group of 16 that they will be led by Premajayantha in the House and that he will attend the parliamentary party leaders meeting.
