Parliament committees to get new members
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya is to chair a Committee of Selection to re-assign parliamentarians to various parliamentary committees.
The Committee of Selection is to consist of 12 legislators and the relevant motion will be presented to Parliament by the Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella at the commencement of House sessions today.
The prorogation of Parliament on April 12th left key parliamentary committees such as the Committee on Public Enterprise (COPE) and Public Accounts Committee (PAC) dissolved.
