European Parliament delegation concerned over Sri Lanka’s slow progress in implementing reforms
A delegation of the European Parliament is currently visiting Sri Lanka to review the progress on national reconciliation and its implementation of the international conventions applicable to GSP+ has expressed concern that the progress achieved has been slower than expected.
The delegation paying an official visit to Colombo from 1-3 November 2017 comprises Chair Ms Jean Lambert (UK), Vice-Chair Mr Richard Corbett (UK), Ms Ulrike Mueller (Germany) and Mr Wajid Khan (UK).
The visit provides Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) with an opportunity to inform themselves on developments since their last official visit in 2016 and to discuss issues of common interest with the Sri Lankan authorities.
