CID seeks public help to recover two valuable stolen paintings
The CID has sought public assistance to recover two stolen paintings by George Keyt, worth more than Rs 12 million.
The two paintings, named ‘Mother and Child’ and ‘Wasanthai’ were stolen in July 2013 from a leading company located at No. 130, Glennie Street, Colombo 2.
‘Mother and Child’ was painted in 1953 and ‘Wasanthai’ was painted in 1950.
The Slave Island police were conducting investigations into the theft.
The CID urges the public to provide them with any information about the paintings on 0112 395248.
